Pilipino Cultural Night (PCN) is an annual production produced by the students at San Francisco State University. On this night, the students put together an inspiring show filled with Pilipino cultural dances, music, modern dancing, acting, songs, and more. Ating Tao, a group of dedicated, self motivated students, created the first show on campus in 1971. Today, the Pilipino American Collegiate Endeavor (PACE) continues to uphold this tradition that has dazzled the campus for years. This year, marks the 40th anniversary of the first PCN production, and we are sure it will not disappoint. They will be hosting it in McKenna Theater on April 28, 2012. Come by and support the longest running PCN! Two of our very own brothers, Andrew Manosca and Andrew Kalt will be performing as well. Don’t forget to say hi!
Congratulations to PACE on 40 years of successful PCN’s! We wish you luck on your next 40.

The Pilipino American Collegiate Endeavor, and our PCN 40 cast, cordially invites you to join us in celebrating our 40th annual Pilipino Cultural Night (PCN), “DAHIL SA’YO”
The story of “Dahil Sayo,” centers Paulino, a WWII veterano, and his grand-daughter, Gabby, a college student, revolving around a search for strength within one’s relationship to the homeland; finding forgiveness; healing old wounds; and moving onward. The loss of Gabby’s father, Emilio, to the Iraq War in 2001, triggers a series of emotions and memories, reflecting events in Pilipino/a American history, and a spirit of hope and uplift, probing the layers of humanity in the Pilipino/a American experience.
What initially started as a dialogue to reflect and understand Filipino/a American identity and culture has become a movement of its own. Pilipino Cultural Night has become an annual production put together by students, celebrating Pilipino identity, culture, history, and community, through cultural dancing, contemporary dancing, acting, and music. PCN has now become a nationwide phenomena and SFSU is proud to present the longest running PCN, and our 40th Anniversary.
